You may have noticed on Flickr a group called 1000 Paper Cranes For Japan...the idea is simple. In Japan, it is commonly said that folding 1000 paper origami cranes makes a person's wish come true. I think that Japan really do need all our wishes and donations right now. There have been so many beautiful images posted of such wonderful origami cranes here so please take the time to go and look.
I have shot 2 cranes for the group and have to admit it is my beautiful daughter who is the origami expert and not me.
She has been making things from paper for a long time and has lots of different patterned papers to make them from. She has always made things and is a very creative girl. She has made several little bunches of flowers for me all out of paper. She is very gifted in maths and I think origami plays to both her mathematical skills and creative talent. I will see what other mini masterpieces she has made and take shots of them also.

Spring
Spring has arrived...well this week for awhile anyway..sigh!
I went out and took some shots in my garden of all sorts of plants that are starting to come through. My daughter does the gardening so I really don't know what are weeds and what are the plants...but all new growth is welcome after so much rain and snow this winter. The new spring plants are always uplifting, they arrive with a sense of hope and new life. I cant wait for a few more sunny days and a bit more colour in the world and lots more photos.

720
This week I have uploaded my 720'th image on Flickr. When I started I really didn't think it would have this long lasting appeal. I really don't know whether to remove some of my earlier images or just keep everything there.
I have quite a few images from last year I haven't uploaded and when I look back they aren't really worth posting now as I feel I have improved since then.
This week I have been enjoying playing with textures again, so prepare to see a few of them on Flickr this week....

Happy St Patricks Day
I have been a terrible contact this week on Flickr. My excuse is a bad trip to the dentist leaving me in quite a bit of discomfort and pain. But now loaded up on pain killers I have been looking at streams today and enjoying each and every one. Quite a lot of the streams have gone green with it being St Patricks today so with that in mind here is my green for the day :)

Another year on Flickr
Yesterday I signed up for another year, it has been great fun and become something of an obsession. When I look back at my images from a year ago I feel I have learnt so much and progressed so far. I have spoken to so many amazing photographers who both inspire and give me confidence in what I do.
I hope that in the year to come I have continued success and learn so much more. Thankyou all my online friends for a wonderful year of photography and art.

RedBubble
I must say that RedBubble do a wonderful selection of artwork and prints.
Many of my images on there I designed with a view to them being produced as canvas prints. They include a warm texture which accentuates the canvas feel and gives it a more painterly quality. I have also tried to design them with a more interior decor feel and hope the hues and tones would match many colour schemes.
Most of the images on RedBubble are only available there and you wont find them on Flickr. However if you see an image on here or on Flickr that you would like to purchase then please let me know.
I particularly like the framed prints that are available to purchase, I think the classic simple black frame really shows of the images.
An easy and inexpensive way to check out the quality of my work is to order a greetings card, to keep for yourself or to share. They are blank inside so you can include your own message.
RedBubble is a safe shopping experience and online community, I have shopped there myself and never had a problem.

Explore
This week 3 more of my images went in to Explore. I am truly grateful for each and everyone that comments and faves my images. Explore is a funny thing really, its a bit like horoscopes in a way...when it's good you want to believe it and when its bad you don’t. Explore's a bit the same. When I have an image chosen then I am pleased, but when I don’t then Explore is not important.
I am secretly competitive and secretly I suppose looking for praise and justification that what I am doing is worth doing...but then aren't we all?

Winter Gardens
Today I posted the last of my Blackpool Winter Gardens pictures on Flickr...for those following my Blog here is an additional one !It has been an enjoyable project sticking to one theme for 10 images. I noticed that my trip to the Winter Gardens has inspired others to go and check it out too, so I am looking forward to seeing the results of their visits.
Meanwhile I have a series of statues to add to Flickr and also some more flowers. I have also still to finish processing the recent beach shots I took last weekend. There doesn't seem to be enough time to do everything ...sigh!
